The magazine “Archaeology and Arts” has taken the initiative of organizing AGON , an International Meeting for short films on the theme of the Mediterranean. The image is immediate and speaks all languages and video, now contributes the paramount means of communication.
As one of the most important and permanent centers of civilization, Greece has an obligation and a responsibility to shed light on the roots of our Mediterranean identity and to make these accessible to all. In doing so, we are hoping to make a positive contribution to the preservation of our common heritage, whether it be African, Middle Eastern or South European, and to help a deeper understanding of those elements which have united us since antiquity around the wonderful sea called Mediterranean.
