The “Cycladic Mystery” approaches the cycladic civilisation of the third millenium b. C. through its most characteristic creation, the marble idols. It highlights the Cycladic innovations, as well as the influences of other cultures. It presents the methods of contemporary archaeology and the questions it poses, and intimates the continuity of the dialogue between the past and the present, since the past is always subject to the interpretative tendencies of every period.
