The film introduces a series of stories that came to light through the study of the Historical Archive of the Archaeological Service on the occasion of the exhibition “…as I have reported in writing…” of the National Archive of Monuments of the Ministry of Culture (DEAM). The archive dates from the formation of the Greek Nation and covers all the aspects of the archaeological sites and monuments of Greece, as well as the administrative evolution and history of the Service. “…working in an archive like this, it really feels like undertaking an excavation project…”
The idea of making this short film is based on the motion design technique in a more traditional way, following the content and the subject of the film. The photographic material of DEAM was mostly used and was enhanced with graphics and sketches. In order to acknowledge the efforts of the members of the staff of the Archive, they participate in the film but they keep a low profile. We hear the voices of the researchers and see their photographs graphically processed.
