The film follows the most important phases of 30 years of excavation and restoration works of mosaics in Middle East, from Father Mikele Pichirilo. The difficulties he encountered during the war conflicts in Palestine, didn’t stop him and thanks to his work the International Community had the chance to see masterpieces that led to a revision of historical theories.
Travelling through the regions, which are represented in the exquisite Madaba Mosaic Map, in Jordan, the film follows the steps of Christianity in Middle East and reaches to a conclusion, to the quest for truth that exists between faith and historical evidence.
Having this in mind, and following the map, we travel through the places where the message of Christianity was born and spread: from Umm-al-Rasas to Jericho and to the mount Nebo, from Hama and Shahba, to Tayybat-al-Imam and to Alexandria of Egypt.
