At Cruzy in Herault, paleontologist Eric Buffetaut and his team have undertook, during the last 10 years, the excavation of dinosaur remains, in collaboration with ACAP (the Association of Amateur Archaeologists and Paleontologists).
Eric Buffetaut talks about the landscapes, the vegetation and the warm and tropical climate during the dinosaur era. He explains the difficulties faced on the extraction of the dinosaur bones from the sandstone and clay soils. He describes the meticulous laboratory processes (cleaning, consolidation…) of the discovered objects. Then it’s time for the most strenuous task: the identification of the remains.
All the findings are on display in a small museum in Cruzy.
