It was almost 6.500 years ago when our Neolithic ancestors began burying their dead and placing them in the centre of imposing monuments, known today by the name of burial mounds.
Roger Joussaume, Luc Laporte and Chris Scarre are the archaeologists who, the last 12 years, are in charge of the excavations of the tomb of Péré, situated in the region of Deux-Sèvres, in central -western France. A burial chamber was recently unearthed, a great chance for the archeologists to find out more about funeral practices of the Neolithic era.
