The actress Anna Synodinou plays the part of two outstanding Macedonian heroines, the Macedonian fighter and teacher Angeliki Metallinou-Tsiomou and the painter of the Balkan Wars Thaleia Flora-Karavia. The camera of Constantine Tseklenis enlivens the biographical travelogue in the very centre of contemporary Macedonia. The scenario draws on Anna Synodinou’s research into the national contribution of Macedonia’s women and on the autobiographies of the two heroines. By following in the footsteps of their exhilarating lives and through his own conjectural wanderings in the last virgin territories of Macedonia, the director pays tribute to Greece’s cultural heritage.
