Α “portrait” of a musical form which sprang up in Smyrna, Constantinople, Aivali… from the lower and partly the middle strata of Greek society. Its themes are inspired from the life and toils of the local people in conditions of peace, war and exile… A journey through time among the people, musical sounds and dances which originated in places like Smyrna, Aivali, Moschonisia, Vourla, Alatsata, Constantinople and have since taken root in Attica, Volos and Thessaloniki.
