In 2009, at the construction site of the Rhin-Rhône high-speed railway the remains of a 12th century medieval windmill were discovered.
Considering the importance of the discovery, the French Rail Network in collaboration with the National Institute of Preventive Archaeological Research (INRAP) finances the reconstruction of the mill.
Students from the school “au Bois de Mouchard” (France Compté) reconstruct a medieval windmill and the National Institute manufactures the grindstones using traditional techniques of that period.
A unique restoration experience.
