The dance of the horses

An age-old rite of worship, to sacrifice to the gods, seen through the eyes of an eight year-old boy in its present day form and its survival through the Christian faith. His eighty year-old grandmother’s narrative of her memories and experiences guide and accompany him on this journey. In this way the boy come into contact with the history and tradition of his homeland, with ancient and Byzantine civilization, with the Orient and the West in their conflict and co-existence, with eroticism and revelry but also with the idea of death.
