The history of the city of Volos is highlighted through the evolution of its Industry. The photographic archives of Hippocrates Zimeris constituted a precious guide in researching Volos’ industry and the efforts to find new uses for its industrial plants. This documentary is based on these archives, on the photographer’s own narratives, as well as the testimonies of individuals who actively contributed to industry’s evolution. It is an attempt to lay emphasis on the value of these contemporary monuments of industrial civilisation, for the sake of the city’s past and future.
