A team of musicians is searching ways to contribute to the rescue of a culture’s identity through its music. Vangelis, Costas, Anastasia and other members of the Encardia group, travel two or three times a year to Grecia Salentina, where the heart of their music beats.

Focusing on the “griko” dialect, the film follows the group as they meet with local poets and musicians, in basements, taverns and public squares, while searching for valuable material for their work. Concerts, celebrations in the griko-speaking villages of southern Italy, festivals and the frantic rhythm of tarantella pizzika.

On their return, they bring back to Greece all those gifts from the land of Salento to offer them to their dedicated fans through their music.
